No. 209 This 2-storey site was originally owned by Tom Twomey who had a Barber Shop and operated a Pool Hall.

In July 1937 a fire started in the middle of 10 wooden shops and Mr Tom Twomey’s hairdressing saloon, owned by Miss Hicks, was serverely damaged and the billiard parlor was slightly damaged. Miss B Gabblett’s beauty parlour, owned by Mr G.J. Elder of Berwick, adjoining was slightly damaged.

The Commercial Bank of Australia opened in Morwell on 30th March 1950. The bank was situated at 222 Commercial Road in premises previously owned by “Cyclotron” Stores. The first manager was Mr. A. G. Colebrook.

In 1956 the bank built a new building at 209/211 Commercial Road (previously numbered 20) and opened in 1957.
The bank was taken over by the Westpac and closed 6th August 1985.
